John Howard is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Everest Group and vice chairman of TIH/CRC Group.

A respected insurance industry veteran with more than 35 years of leadership experience, John began his career on active duty in the U.S. Navy and held executive positions at GE Capital, Conseco, and Prudential.  He previously served as chairman and chief executive officer of Truist Insurance Holdings where during his 20+ year tenure, he led the growth through many iterations to the group it is today.  Additionally, he served as a senior executive of Truist Financial Corporation and BB&T Corporation.

John also serves as vice chair of the board for the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers; an overseer of the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial Science at St.John’s University; and a member of the Insurance Policy Advisory Committee of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
