Compre announces next iteration of Renewable LPT with French insurer Wakam

04/09/26

Compre Group Holdings Limited (‘Compre’), the Bermuda-domiciled international speciality reinsurance group, today announces it has renewed its Renewable Loss Portfolio Transfer agreement with French insurer Wakam S.A. (‘Wakam’).

The original transaction between Compre and Wakam completed in 2025 and covered approximately €140 million of reserves as at 31 December 2024, relating primarily to UK and French motor and property insurance liabilities for 2024 and prior.

The renewed LPT covers €126.5 million of net undiscounted reserves as at 31 December 2025, with a further accident year added to the reinsurance coverage under the parties’ annual renewal framework. The agreement provides Wakam with continued access to Compre’s specialist legacy and capital solutions expertise demonstrating the flexibility of the Renewable LPT structure to support clients as their requirements evolve.

The transaction is the first renewal under the Renewable LPT mechanism, representing an important evolution in Compre’s reinsurance proposition while demonstrating its ability to deliver tailored solutions in an ongoing partnership.

The renewal further reinforces Compre’s position as a specialist partner for insurers seeking to actively manage legacy liabilities and optimise their capital, providing solutions across the risk lifecycle and demonstrates both the repeatability of the solution structure and confidence in Compre’s ability to deliver tailored solutions in this ongoing partnership.

Will Bridger, CEO of Compre, said: “Renewing our agreement with Wakam is further progress for Compre and a strong endorsement of our ability to deliver capital and liability solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients. The addition of a further accident year under our annual renewal framework demonstrates the value of the partnership we have built with Wakam. We look forward to continuing to build on this relationship and to further developing our reinsurance offering.”

Catherine Charrier-Leflaive, Group CEO of Wakam, said: “Renewing with Compre turns a transaction into a partnership. Adding a further accident year under the annual framework keeps our balance sheet clean and our capital and teams focused on what matters most: scaling our Play & Plug® platform for our distribution partners across Europe. This first renewal proves the structure is repeatable — smart capital management, year after year, clearing the path for Wakam to build the insurance infrastructure of tomorrow.”
